Check-Out lane (Pre-Halloween post)

In all my experiences in grocery stores and places like those, I haven't really seen that many good looking people working at the places. The worst looking people usually end up working ... the check out lane. Who came up with that name anyway?

The check out lane is the last place where I would want to be "checked-out." People who run these grocery ..(horror).. stores have demented senses of humor in calling it what they do, and then making the ugly people work there. That is why this Halloween I will be wearing a hoody, a face mask, my Groucho Marx glasses and fake nose, because I am not going to be checked out at the check out lane!

Crazy Cartoon!

Remember when you were a kid and you had that sugary, sweet, kid cereal? Remember this morning when you had sugary, sweet kid cereal? I do. I also remember why I wanted to talk my mom into getting those cereals. It is for those crazy cartoon characters they have on the box! My cousin brought the subject of insane cereal dudes while we were on vacation together in July. This got us thinking... why don't gross, cardboard, adult cereals have crazy spokespersons? Maybe if they did, kids would be begging their parents for the "un-sugar-coated cardboard flakes, (now with fiber)".

Be looking out for this little guy on the Fiber-Os commercial, where the slogan for the cereal is, "When slow and steady, doesn't win the race!"

Well, looks like I've been upstaged by my good friend Daniel Torres again. I was planning on posting this turtle since I drew it way back then. Dan just happened to be posting a turtle right before I get to mine. No seriously, check out his blog, his art is amazing!

Quick Dino sketches.

This was an evolution joke that no one really got. *Sigh* Scientists say that birds came from dinosaurs. Can you imagine the look on the parents' faces?

All I can say is, I was thirsty while drawing this. I didn't do much clean up work on these because I drew them pretty quickly.

Posting covers a multitude of un-erased marks, right? That's how I've always heard that saying anyway.

Me

People have told me that I sing like a walrus, (whatever that means). But maybe if I play guitar like one too, people can close their eyes and actually be fooled into thinking that a walrus is playing. Whatever that means.

Hey, guys, sorry the blog has been a little slow recently. First I was really sick with the flu. Yeah, don't ask if it was the swine flu, because the doctors wouldn't say... probably to not depress people. Although, it would be really funny if I had the swine flu after that fuss I made about it a while back. The second reason it has been slow is that I had to hook up the printer to my computer. (Lame excuse.) Third, I started school, and man have I been busy. This semester is looking so much more busy than my last semester. Thankfully this semester looks busier to just about everyone I know, so I'm not missing out.

Now, because of lame reason number 2, you won't be missing out on my blog.

Can't wait till Summer 2011!!

Hey ya'll I'm back from the East Coast! I went to an amazing conference: Worship God 09-From Generation to Generation! I went to the worship conference last year, both very helpful, but I think they upped it at this year's couple of days!! Bob Kauflin, a pastor of Covenent Life Church and faithful worship leader there for 12 years, organizes the conference with his daughter. The conferences are usually every other year, but they did it two years in a row to get off the same year as The Clash, another good conference.

Since the main topic is Worship they always have (in my opinion) the best in Worship Music. Not only musically is it fantastic but the words are profound and are very helpful at pointing and keeping our gaze on the Gospel. Here is a list of the songs we sung at the conference.

Alright, so it looks like I will not be getting any photoshop this year. So, black and white it is... :(

For a rainy day...

I was saving this for a rainy day but then I realized I live in California. I haven't really had much time for drawing recently, (this one was on the same page as the last one) but I hadn't posted anything in a while...

I was actually waiting to post this till I heard back from my friend that works at Adobe about getting Photoshop for cheap.

In other news, my brother got a lot of new electronics which means I got all his old ones. One of the things he got is a new printer THAT HAS A SCANNER! So, hopefully no more taking pictures of drawings!!

Speaking of new electronics, one of the old ones of his I got was his ipod touch! Haha, it was amazing after only a couple hours of having it it already was a necessity.

"The Fam!" -'What about Bob?'

11 days ago or something like that, my family had its normal ritual of not being at the house all summer long, aka SUMMER FAMILY VACATION ROAD TRIP! That's a mouth full.

This trip didn't consist of anything too new or too different from last years ritual past time, but a new experience all in all. But as most summer family vacation road trips go it consisted of the same ingredients: Early mornings, fast food, long trips in the car, electronics, books, music, family, fast food, more family, more long trips in the car, grease, zits, fast food, tents, sleeping bags, flashlights, fast food, rest stops, smelly breath, late nights, sun burns, MORE family, and fast food. --Day one.

Now, I'm a considerate blogger. I don't like to talk about events longer than they actually took place, so I have come up with two sections to this post. The first one is for those of you who don't wanna read for an hour but are considerate enough to check my blog. The 2nd is a little more detailed and a little longer. Both will say practically the same things. Hopefully I don't write 10 days worth of stuff. Oi, I feel arthritis coming on...

The First One.

Day one, we drove up to the Red Woods and camped with my cousins. We were there for three days. Then we drove up to Oregon to see more of the same side of the family and to go to one of my cousin's wedding. We were there for three nights at least, idk about the days. After that we had a family reunion in Southern Oregon with the other side of my family right on the freezing beach. We were there three days. End of "The First One".

The Long One, (Second One).

Friday morning, the third, I believe it was; we woke up bright eyed and bushy eyebrowed ready for our ten day trip. I didn't get any sleep in the car, but I still did a lot of fun things (as far as car riding goes). After a long drive up to Northern CA we were deep in the heart of the red woods, and we could feel the beat that the country played to. Stupid banjos.

I have only been in that part of the Red Woods once before and man I wish I would have been more. I had sooooo much fun straining my neck and eyes to see the tops of the enormous redness. If you have never been threw the Red Woods before to give you an idea of how big the trees are they cut out a small part of one huge tree that cars drive through!! Also, the trees are so big that at when we got there it was still hot and sunny and once we got under the trees the temperature dropped and we set up camp in the dark. *Whew* that was a long sentence. We left there half way through the day on the 6th.

We drove up to Corvallis, Oregon that day and continued to camp, but this time it was in my Aunt's backyard. We sort of had a family reunion on that side of the family there because we were all there for my cousin's wedding. There was so much good and red meated food the day before the wedding that the night before I ralphed it all up. I had such a wonderful time there.

On another note it was a nice wedding, right by a lake. A Japanese style wedding. -That was muy fascinatin-o. I think we left there on the 9th? But I could be wrong. The trip, and summer actually, I never keep track of time.

Once we arrived at our rural destination in Southern Oregon you might have thought we were family'd out, right? Wrong... we had a family reunion for the other side of my family there. This was the 2nd one I really had with the whole of my dad's side. My mom's side I see all the time; they're chop liver.

When our days there were up we drove back to SoutherCali. I think it was a 14 hour drive.

Now you think I'm family'd out? Nonsense! My grandma drove back in the car with us!! She is here now!

On the trip I heard a lot of funny jokes and had lots of good ideas for drawings and posts on here.

I didn't check the grammar on here yet, so, who knows how're me spellin' en grammahhh wints. (Now that is the heart beat of the country!)
